Winter Recap
We recently wrapped up our Winter Futsal Training Program at Catholic University’s Athletic Center. Players from our travel teams and beyond spent the past few months leveling up their skills every Saturday, and are revved up for their spring seasons.

After the snowcrete finally cleared, our U8-U12 travel teams kicked off their WinterFest friendlies with some satisfying wins over local opponents including DC Way Academy, DC Soccer Club, and City Sporting.

At the end of February, three of our teams competed in their first tournament of 2026. The WCU 11B Blue, WCU 14B Blue, and WCU 16B Blue teams represented our club in the Arlington Tournament Boys Weekend. Led by Boys & Girls Program Director Jon Orlando, the 14B Blue and 16B Blue teams won all their group stage games, and finished as Finalists. Congrats to all three teams on a strong showing!

At WCU, every travel player gets an IDP. 🗒️ Each player meets individually with their coach twice per year to set and review their Individual Development Plan. 💫 Together, they discuss the player’s progression and establish personalized development goals based on the 4 soccer pillars. Each IDP is designed to meet the player where they are in their development journey, and ensure they have a clear, supportive plan for ongoing growth. 📈 Every child develops at their own pace, and our priority is individual growth, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. 🤩 #playerdevelopment #soccertraining #socceracademy #youthsoccer #DCsoccerButton
